Two wounded in exchange of gunfire along Queensway

Ottawa police are seeking public assistance after two men were wounded in a shooting Thursday afternoon between two cars travelling along the Queensway.

Police said the incident occurred at about approximately 1:20 p.m. on Highway 417 eastbound between the Metcalfe Street and Parkdale Avenue exits.

Investigators confirmed that gunfire was exchanged between two moving vehicles both travelling eastbound in the fast lane on the highway, police said in a release.

One of the involved vehicle was a white Mercedes. Police described the incident as a “targeted shooting.”

Yesterday afternoon, police were advised that two people had appeared in hospital with gunshot wounds.

A 25-year-old man and a woman were admitted with non-life threatening injuries.

They were later released. The two victims were uncooperative with police.

Investigators are looking for any witnesses or dashcam footage of the incident.
