At the strategic level, Rumours are reportedly swirling in Moscow that a number of former General Officers and KGB officials are preparing to oust Russia’s President Vladimir Putin and end the war in Ukraine.


According to UK intelligence Russia’s military has been significantly weakened by invasion of Ukraine and the ongoing invasion of Ukraine will have a lasting impact on the Russian forces.


Ukraine’s Parliament has voted to allow Territorial Defense Units to fight outside their assigned regions.


President Zelensky said  Ukraine’s goals are to halt Russia’s advance, reclaim territory, and to restore Ukraine’s entire territory through diplomacy including the Crimea. 


On the ground, Russian and Belarusian forces continue “demonstrative actions” to fix Ukrainian forces around Kyiv in place.


Russia is continuing to partially blockade the heavily hit city of Kharkiv. Russian shelling intensified in Kharkiv and Kharkiv Oblast, targeting residential areas.


Russian forces continued their grinding offensive directed at Lyman, Izyum and Barvinkove where Russia is trying to mount a big surge. 


Russian shelling kills at least 10 civilians, injures 15 near the Avdiivka Coke and Chemical Plant.


Ukrainian troops repelled 12 Russian attacks in Donbas and reported that Russian losses in the fighting in Donbas include six tanks, two artillery systems, three MLRS, 15 units of armored combat vehicles and nine cars.


Putin is preparing to annex Donetsk, Luhansk and Kherson and install puppet leaders.


Ukraine said Russian planes continued to launch air attacks on Mariupol, focusing on the Azovstal steelworks. 


156 civilians evacuated from Azovtal arrived in Zaporizhzhia. Nearly 1,000 people remain trapped at the besieged facility, while Russian troops are trying to break into the plant after an intense night of shelling that killed two women.


Russian forces try to ‘create conditions’ to advance towards Mykolaiv, Kryvyi Rih. Russia aims to occupy the whole Kherson Oblast and “create favorable conditions” to attack the cities of Mykolaiv and Kryvyi Rih. Russia is strengthening artillery and air defense units in Zaporizhzhia, Kryvyi Rih and Mykolaiv areas. 


Ukraine’s Southern Operational Command reported that it carried out over 40 fire missions along the border of Kherson and Mykolaiv Oblasts, destroying several troop concentrations, and equipment concentration points.


Fresh Russian missile strikes are being reported across multiple regions of Ukraine with targets including Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro and Lviv.


Transnistria accused Ukraine of flying a bomb-laden drone on its territory in a likely false flag, operation as Russia continues to destabilize Moldova.


The German government decided to send seven Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzers to Ukraine. 


The UK announced it will send Brimstone anti-ship missiles and Stormer anti-aircraft systems.
