Officers responded to reports of gunshots in the 200 block of Saddlecrest Boulevard N.E. on Thursday morning. When officers arrived they found 24-year-old Hisham Ahmed suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.

The slaying is Calgary’s 11th homicide of 2022 and was part of a spree of violence that prompted city police to hold an update with members from the homicide unit and organized crime unit.

Officers at the update said they were looking for a vehicle that was seen fleeing the scene immediately after the shooting.

On Saturday, police said they found the truck, described as a 2003 to 2006 dark coloured GMC Sierra with aftermarket headlights and exhaust system.
