An Ottawa man who works as a youth worker faces five counts of possession of child pornography after police executed a search warrant on Baseline Road near Navaho Drive Thursday.
The Ottawa Police Service’s internet child exploitation unit launched an investigation based on a tip from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre that a local person was suspected of possessing the material, city police said in a release Friday.
The 28-year-old appeared in court Friday and was granted bail under conditions that he not access the internet unsupervised or be near children, conditions which, the crown noted, would leave him unable to work in his job as a youth worker.
