Ottawa weather: Risk of freezing drizzle Wednesday night and Thursday

Wednesday’s forecast includes mixed skies, a high of -2 C and a wind chill near -8, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.

There’s the risk of freezing drizzle Wednesday evening and overnight and a 30 per cent chance of flurries overnight with fog patches developing. The forecast low is -6 C.

Thursday is expected to be cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of flurries and the risk of freezing drizzle, a high of -3 C and a wind chill near -8. The forecast is cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of flurries and a low of -6 C overnight.

The forecast has 2022 coming in on a mild note with a high of 1 C and low of 0 C for New Year’s Eve on Friday. It’s expected to be cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of showers or rain Friday night.

Flurries or rain showers and a high of 5 C are forecast for New Year’s Day on Saturday before the mercury is expected to plunge to a more seasonal -14 C with a 60 per cent chance of showers or flurries overnight.

Sunday’s forecast high is -9 C under mixed skies with an overnight low of -20 C.

“Normals” for this time of year are highs of -6 C and lows of -14 C.
