One man dead after shooting in Saddle Ridge Wednesday night

Calgary police say a man was found dead following a shooting in the northeast community of Saddle Ridge on Wednesday night.

Police received multiple calls reporting gunshots in the 200 block of Saddlecrest Boulevard N.E. around 10:30 p.m.

When they arrived, they found evidence of a shooting and an injured man.

An EMS spokesperson said they were escorted to the scene outside a residence by police and briefly assessed a male, believed to be in his mid-20s, who was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The victim was declared dead at the scene and was not transported to hospital. EMS did not attempt resuscitation.

An autopsy has been scheduled for 9 a.m. Police are asking any witnesses, or anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area prior to the shooting, to reach out by calling 403-266-1234 or to submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers.
