Nunavut government creates scholarship to honour slain student

The government of Nunavut has established a scholarship in the name of Savanna Pikuyak, the 22-year-old nursing student slain in Ottawa last week.

The scholarship, announced Wednesday by Nunavut Minister of Health John Main, offers $5,000 for Inuit accepted into the pre-health program at Nunavut Arctic College, as Pikuyak had been.
