NCC closes Lac Leamy Beach due to poor water quality

The National Capital Commission announces that the beach at Leamy Lake is closed indefinitely due to a “Class D” water quality test.

The federal agency did not issue any clarification although bacteriological testing is conducted regularly at its beaches.

A resampling will be conducted.

The agency said that Blanchet and O’Brien beaches, at Meech Lake, Breton, Parent and Smith beaches, at Philippe Lake, and the beach at La Pêche Lake remain open.

Gatineau’s three municipal beaches, Parc des Cèdres, Lac Moussette and Lac-Beauchamp.

And, in Ottawa, five of the city’s six beaches are open. The exception is Westboro Beach, which is closed this summer due to construction.
