Firefighters freed a person trapped in a cement truck after the vehicle crashed on the eastbound Highway 417 at Moodie Drive Wednesday afternoon.

There was no immediate word on injuries after Ottawa Fire Services tweeted just before 2 p.m. that the lone occupant of the vehicle had been successfully extricated by firefighters after sharing video of the rescue effort.

Ottawa Paramedics reported assessed and treated a man in his mid-40s. He was taken to the Ottawa Trauma Centre in stable condition.

The Ministry of Transportation of Ontario said that all lanes of the east off ramp at Moodie Drive were closed due to the collision.
