Calgary police respond to early morning shooting in the Beltline

Calgary police say a man has been taken to hospital in non-life threatening condition after being shot in the leg.

According to police, they received multiple reports from people on the LRT around 6:24 a.m of a man allegedly shot in the leg near the Victoria Park/Stampede Station.

Officers were unable to find the victim but EMS officials located him near the Alpha House shelter a short time later.

The victim was taken to Foothills hospital in non-life threatening condition.

Police say they do not yet have a crime scene or a suspect in custody. They continue to investigate continues.
