The popular annual festival that stretches from downtown to Mission is slated for a comeback this June for the first time since 2019, with eyes on a larger event than ever before.
Typically, Lilac Festival takes over Fourth Street between 13th Avenue and Elbow Drive S.W. for a single day every June, but this year it will extend its reaches, taking over a section of 17th Avenue from Second Street to Fifth Street S.W. for the first time.
“Expect an extra stage, packed with live entertainment … along with more vendors and extended patios for ample opportunities to celebrate the return of Lilac Festival in the Calgary community,” reads a post on the festival’s Facebook page.
“We couldn’t be more excited to be bringing 17th Avenue along for the ride!”
